Aches and Sprains

Comfort aching muscles

Aching muscles? Particularly in your back, neck or shoulders? It could be fibrositis - the inflammation of muscle fibres brought on by tension, bad posture, rheumatic or non-serious arthritic pain. We’ve a range of solutions available to help ease your pain and reduce swelling. You’ll find two popular choices below, as well as more details on fibrositis and alternative therapies.

Living with rheumatic pain

Living with rheumatism doesn’t have to be a real challenge. There are a number of things you can do to help ease the pain of rheumatism:

  • Try some gentle exercise, like walking, cycling or swimming. Start slowly (maybe 2 times a week) and build up gradually. Always consult your doctor before starting a new exercise routine.
  • Eat well and try nutritional supplements. The right nutrients can help keep your joints healthy.
  • Try rubbing or massaging your joints – many aromatherapy oils claim to relieve the pains of arthritis
  • Taking a painkiller with anti-inflammatory properties, like ibuprofen – the active ingredient in Nurofen – can also help.
